Transparent pricing

Total Cost by Profile

Profile 1 — Andorran Resident Buying from a Local Dealer

The simplest and lowest-cost scenario for additional expenses. The vehicle is delivered directly at the Andorran dealership, no enclosed transport needed, COC delivered at handover. Total excluding IGI: EUR 1,600 to EUR 2,200 depending on specialist.

Profile 2 — Purchase from a French or Spanish Dealership

The vehicle is delivered at the dealership of origin (Audi dealer in Toulouse, Mercedes in Barcelona, etc.) and then transported by enclosed transporter to Andorra. Total excluding IGI: EUR 3,800 to EUR 5,200 depending on distance.

Profile 3 — Supercar (Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren) with Specialist Transport

Enclosed transport is mandatory to preserve the manufacturer’s warranty. Additional cost EUR 3,000 to EUR 4,500. Total excluding IGI: EUR 5,500 to EUR 7,800.

Profile 4 — Vehicle Imported from Outside the EU (US-spec SUV, JDM Japanese)

Individual type approval (RTI) is additionally required, adding to both cost and lead time. Total excluding IGI: EUR 2,200 to EUR 3,100 plus EUR 350 to EUR 700 for RTI.

Andorra vs France and Spain: Savings in 4 Real Cases

The saving from registering in Andorra versus a standard EU country comes from two main sources. In France: 20% TVA plus the malus ecologique (up to EUR 60,000 on high-emission vehicles). In Spain: 21% IVA plus the IEDMT registration tax (up to 14.75% of the vehicle’s value on high-emission vehicles).

Andorra cost = IGI + specialist fees + transport. France cost = 20% TVA + malus ecologique (maximum band). Spain cost = 21% IVA + IEDMT (maximum band by emissions). Excluding residency or company formation costs (entry costs separate). Figures are indicative — to be verified case by case.

What the Price Does Not Include

Three items remain at your expense in addition to the table above:

  • Passive residency entry costs (EUR 50,000 AFA bond + EUR 600,000 minimum investment) if you are not yet an Andorran resident. Details in our passive residency guide.
  • Andorran company formation costs (EUR 1,500 to EUR 3,500) if registration goes via an SL with genuine activity. See our company car guide.
  • Annual running costs: Andorran vehicle insurance (EUR 600 to EUR 1,800/year depending on vehicle), biennial roadworthiness test (EUR 60 to EUR 90), annual municipal circulation tax (EUR 40 to EUR 280/year depending on the commune and engine size).

Why Our Compared Prices Are More Accurate Than Any Single Specialist

Drive-Andorra is not a registration specialist. Our role is to connect buyers with the right Andorran specialist for their profile (resident, non-resident, brand, vehicle value). That position of neutral intermediary lets us compare real market prices — data that no individual specialist publishes.

Our prices are based on more than 200 files processed in 2025-2026 and the pricing of 8 partner specialists. The ranges reflect market reality, not a theoretical projection.

Frequently Asked Questions on Prices

Is Andorran IGI always 4.5%?

Yes, for new and used vehicles alike. The general IGI rate is 4.5% under Law 11/2012, article 50. Certain specific goods (food at 1%, books at 0%) have different rates, but these do not apply to vehicles.

Why is there a EUR 1,200 to EUR 2,800 difference in specialist fees?

The difference reflects service level. The lower end corresponds to a specialist covering the administrative minimum. The upper end includes personalised support, multilingual follow-up, transport management and timeline guarantees. For a vehicle worth more than EUR 150,000, the premium package’s extra cost is easily justified.

Does the price vary by vehicle brand?

The IGI does not change (4.5% of value, regardless of brand). However, some specialists increase their package for supercars (specialist transport, more complex RTI for Ferrari or Lamborghini models imported from outside the EU). Budget 30% to 50% above standard package rates for these vehicles.

Can the fees be paid in instalments?

The specialist package, yes — in 2 to 4 instalments depending on the agreement. The IGI must be paid in full when the registration file is submitted. Several Andorran banks (Credit Andorra, MoraBanc) offer vehicle financing that can cover the IGI.

What is the minimum ROI for an Andorra registration?

Generally, the operation is worthwhile from EUR 35,000 vehicle value for a petrol or diesel vehicle subject to a significant registration tax, and from EUR 60,000 for a low-emission or electric vehicle. Below those thresholds, fixed costs tend to absorb the difference.

Does Drive-Andorra charge a commission to the client?

No. Our service is free for both private individuals and companies. We are paid by partner specialists when they complete a file we have directed to them. Our comparison remains neutral: we direct to the specialist who fits your profile, not to the one who pays the most.
